Lake in the group of Shatsky lakes are very different. Some of them, such as, for example, Turski, occupy depressions of river valleys, but most of the lakes are isolated from major rivers or connected to small ducts. Interestingly, the water in the group of Shatsky lakes has a different color. So, the Lake is strikingly transparent it is, the lake is Sandy — whitish, in lake take — bluish.

It fascinates not only the transparency of the water, but snow-white Cretaceous bed, and its fish resources are truly inexhaustible. On clear days, the Lake reflects the azure of the sky, and in bad weather the vast stretches of formidable walk lead-gray waves. On the Black sea coast a lot of estuary lakes. It is, as a rule, the sea flooded the mouth or lower course of rivers. Hollows of most of the South Ukrainian estuaries created by the rivers in those ancient times when the sea level was lower than today and the river is much more affluent. The resulting gradual lowering of the onset of the sushi sea flooded parts of river valleys and a unique coastal lakes.

Unusual and lakes are formed in areas for which in the past was characterized by active volcanic activity. The craters of extinct volcanoes, gradually filled by rain and snow water, while there are volcanic lakes such as Lipovetskoe, Blue and Morachevskii in the Carpathians.

In mountainous terrain as a result of collapses, landslides and avalanches can occur natural dam, blocking the river valley. It formed dammed lakes, which include lake Synevyr in Mizhhiria district, Transcarpathian region, lying at an altitude of 989 m above sea level.

The unique purity of the lake Svityaz is due to the fact that his main power amount to artesian water. In the Western part of the lake to the surface from under the Cretaceous formations out powerful sources of crystal clear water, annual inflow of approximately 3.5 million m3. However, water runoff from adjacent to the water surface slopes play a role. In the spring the water level in the lake rises significantly — sometimes by more than a meter. In high water in the lake also receives water from a nearby lake Lucimar through the adjacent small lake Linowitz.
